A Challenge

There are times when being thankful is a challenge. I find though, that a lot of times I need to shift my focus from what is going wrong to what is going right.

This is a fun exercise that I did after hearing about it at Bible study a while back.  All that you need is a pen (or your choice of writing utensil) and some paper…

For each day that you participate, come up with 4 unique things that you are thankful for. By unique, I mean that you can only use it once….

The challenge in Bible study was to do it for 7 days. I ended up doing it for 30.

The Little Things

Some days it was thanks for sunshine…others for not burning dinner….that laundry was finished…I remembered to renew library books…or for a specific sweet moment with the kids…

The real point being looking for things to be thankful for. It really changes your perspective.

I want to make it a practice to take the time to write down things that I am thankful for several times a year.

Today is November 2nd, so I want to challenge you to come up with 4 things that you are thankful for each day this month. You can do 8 today to catch up if you like.

Will you take part? Please comment and let me know! I’d love to hear some things that you are thankful for thought out the month!

  1. A great challenge, Robbi, and one that should be easy because we are definitely a blessed people! I’ll start off with the biggies, I’m thankful for Jesus, family, home, food, clothing, the Word, freedom and being able to read.

  2. That’s a great idea. I especially like the reminder to pick different things to be thankful for. A thankful perspective to start the day can really change the day! God loves our thankfulness!
