The memory of the righteous is a blessing, but the name of the wicked will rot.
The funnies, or funny pages, will always hold special memories for me.
Growing up, Granddaddy was my daddy really. My dad passed away when I was almost 2, and my mom did not remarry until I was almost 9.
There was a period of time we lived with Grandma and Granddaddy. During that time, one of my favorite memories was the nightly reading of the funnies before we went to bed. Granddaddy would turn on his reading lap that clipped to the bed and read me the funnies. I can’t remember my favorite, but I remember the time spent with him. Him taking the time to read to me, though he was tired.
I miss him lots, but I am thankful he was my granddaddy.
