Updates, Bundles, and The Aprons & Pearls Linkup #58

It looks like we might make it to church Wednesday night! After the roads being icy the last three weeks, the weather forecast is not calling for snow. I do love snow though…
Friday I started my GreenTree Jewelry earring giveaway. I will be posting the winning a bit later today (it is my one day to try to sleep in a bit this week!).

{The following are affiliate links. This means that, while the price you pay does not change, I get a small commission.}

This week is a big week in the Ultimate Bundles community. It is the Ultimate Bundles Festival. Each day this week you can snag a different bundle for a great price, or, if you want, you can snag all of them for just $67

Monday: Healthy Living | Tuesday: Parenting | Wednesday: Herbs & Essential Oils | Thursday: Fitness | Friday: Clutter

If you would like more information on the bundles, including a list of the resources included, you can click on the links above. I love Ultimate Bundles, and I have yet to be disappointed in one. I actually just got the Herbs and Essential Oils Bundle and cannot wait to use it.
Yesterday I shared some Family Dinner Games to help make National Sunday Supper month a bit more fun. I shared a while back about having Intentional Family Dinners and how important they are.
I have been trying to take advantage of hubby being home this past week to get things decluttered and organized a bit better. I got a lot done. Not everything that I had hoped, but I made such progress. It is getting there. Now to regain the downstairs this week (I worked upstairs last week, so I lost a little ground downstairs, though dishes and laundry are pretty well in hand)!
Hubby and I had a date night thanks to my mom who came and watched the kids.
I am still trying to balance outing days. Trying to get past the feeling that they are unproductive. I think it is just the mental energy that it takes to get everything that we need, get the kids ready, and get them loaded up in the car…
Grocery shopping has been less of a thing the past few months. I have gotten most everything we need through grocery pickup. I plan to write a post on that later.
Have you ever purchased a bundle from Ultimate Bundles? Which one most interests you? How do you make sure that outing days are still productive at home?

Spring Thoughts and The Aprons & Pearls Linkup

Totally dropped the ball on posts the past two weeks.
Littlest man is going through a phase of no sleep and hates being set down for anytime at all. While I love baby wearing, I can’t wear him in the front and type very well, and I can’t sit comfortably with him on my back… And times that he does play, I have stuff around the house to catch up on.
I always feel like typing on my phone (as I am now) is so much slower, so I usually don’t bother. Slow but steady might just be the way to go for now.
Spring is here. Flowers and trees are blooming (just ask our seasonal allergies!). Days are getting nicer, so the kids and I get outside more.
Spring means planning the garden. I have been weeding out the raised bed. I love digging in the garden. Preparing the soil for the seeds.
I love lessons from the garden. There’s a good one in preparing the soil, I hope to get it typed up soon.
I’ve had another guest post published. Nichole over at Defying Shadows is doing a Fearless 365 series and I shared what Psalm 56:4 means to me.
If you missed it, I did a Guest post on Making Grocery Shopping Easier for The Stay-at-home Mom Survival Guide.
I also have a giveaway going on right now. You can check out how to enter the giveaway of His Word Alone here.

Nesting and The Aprons and Pearls Linkup

Nesting is in full swing here. With less than two weeks left until our official due date (I really do not put much stock in the estimated due date, but it is nearing the end of the pregnancy), I have had more energy and drive than I have in a long time.
While there is still plenty of decluttering to do, I have felt more motivated to clean random stuff (because baby will care if my pots and pans are organized or the tea pots from great-grandmother are dusted!), so I have had to redirect at least a little bit.
I have not decided for sure, but once baby comes, I will likely not post much more this year. I am planning on setting up the Aprons and Pearls Linkup to continue in my general absence.

Outings & The Aprons & Pearls Link-up

I have been thinking about our week, and for some reason, when we are out for a few hours, I seem to write that day off as far as doing stuff around the house….
Example, 3’s Storytime this round started at 11, we leave around 10 so the kids can play before and we can pick out books, we get ready around 9:30, so when I get up at 6, there’s some time before we leave. We get back between 12:30-1, so there is plenty of time after. Granted, there are meals and diaper changes in there, but there’s really a lot of time I could use.
I really need to get my head around this….I know that sometimes it is because by the time we’re home I’m worn out, but part of it might be that I have no real aim that day other than our outing….
So this week I am tentatively planning things before and after…writing them out on my weekly overview. I might not be up to all of it by the time we get back, but I need to use the “awkward pauses” Nony of a Slob Comes Clean talks about…(you can check out that podcast here)
I listened to that podcast a good while back, but it’s not even like I am wondering what to do, I just have written the day off….
Just some randomness from me trying to figure things out….

Absent

Thanksgiving Memories & Traditions @godschicki
I have been absent from the blog for a while. Trying to put more of those Productivity Tips into action and get the house decluttered. Real life has always taken priority, and it has been not stop as of late.
The house is not quite done yet, though I have made big strides and it is getting much easier to get it to manageable…
The pregnancy is taking its toll…in the home stretch-ish, but I am dragging most days. My blood pressure is creeping up a bit, so I am praying hard that we will be able to birth at home as planned. Hopefully, I will get the house finished the week, get some good sleep and it will be great next week.
I have not officially been put on bedrest, but I am under orders to take it easy…..
It is kind of hard to say if it is the pregnancy (growing a human and/or lovely pregnancy insomnia), chasing two toddlers, adrenal fatigue or burning the candle at both ends trying to get stuff done that has me so worn out.
I am planning several posts (or, at least the ideas for them have been bouncing around in my head for a while), and I really hope to get back to a few posts a week. Maybe not a hard and fast schedule, but we will see. It is likely that I will be taking a break once baby comes until after the new year. Maybe a post or two in there, but I am not going to stress over it.
The Aprons and Pearls Linkup will return next week, though it will be revamped a bit.
Autumn is here. Well, the pumpkins are out anyway…The weather here is not quite autumn like yet….Today is cool enough to open the windows up and air the house. I love those kinds of days.
Not much of a deep post, but I am planning one for Monday that is a tough one, so, maybe this will balance it out!

Aprons & Pearls Link~up

Little by little things are getting done. Painfully slow process, mainly because the kids are so young and need mama a lot, and mama is tired.
I wish things were like in the movies…mostly the Disney ones where all of the nice little animals come and help you clean or you can clean with a snap of your fingers. We have a family of bunnies and some ducks and cats in the neighborhood that could lend a hand! I suppose that would cause it’s own problems, but one can day dream, eh?
Things have been further complicated this week by Bobby figuring out our baby gates….thankfully he’s pretty good at listening and going back in the living room when told…most of the time.
I feel like I am making progress. I can see the changes in the house, little by little it is getting better.
I need to be more intentional with teaching the kids to clean up after themselves this week.
Anywho…enough real life! On to the link-up

I have linked this post up at:

It Has Been a Rough Couple of Weeks

I just realized that I missed setting up the Aprons and Pearls Linkup this week. Week #3 and already failing. Let us try again next week shall we?
It has been a yucky rainy week and a half. Add to that an over-tired, hormonal, pregnant mama. And all of the drama that comes with two small kids. It was quite a recipe for not much getting done around the house.
I did, however declutter over the weekend. The catch-all that was my closet is now (mostly) put into order. I got 9 bags of donation stuff out and filled up our trash and recycle cans (they were half full already).
Yes. It was a lot of stuff. I meant to take a before picture, but forgot. People say I should feel good about it, but my back and dust allergies have been killing me ever since I started, so it is a bit hard to say right now.
I put into practice a lot of things that I have learned from Dana White, over at a Slob Comes Clean. Seriously, check out her podcasts, they have helped me figure things about my thinking out. No Keep box….put things away right then. Extras…well, I did keep some extras that will get used. Two decluttering questions. Container concept. There were some more, but I cannot think of them right now.
If I do laundry everyday, getting through it all in a week, or just do a laundry day, I do not need 8 black tank tops (I wear them as undershirts for modesty, and they are handy when nursing-I can pull these down and my over shirt up) (among other colors!), I kept 3. I do not need 20 it’s-okay-to-get-messed-up-shirts. I kept 5. I have two that I kept to make rags out of, but they have already been cut-up.
There were clothes I got at the thrift store and did not like the way they looked on me. Shirts that I have had for year that do not fit anymore, or that I will likely not wear for a few more years because they are not very nursing friendly.
Shoes that I was given but have never worn, or do not fit right, or that were just worn out. A few single shoes got chucked too.
I went through my stash of notebooks/journals that was in there.
I still have more clothes (and journals) than I really need, but it is a start. Usable stuff to pass along and stuff that is not so usable stuff junked.
Hoping the weather gets better soon. I really want to get to the pool. And use the clothes line. And do some more gardening.
Playing around with ideas for a series on making your home smell good naturally. I have a few posts planned out, in my head. I have about 100 ideas swimming around my brain, just need to put them onto paper, so to speak.
I have nearly everything gathered for a big home blessing giveaway. Just a few things that I want to make, and well, I need to get a few more things caught up first.
Working on establishing a routine. Failing miserably thus far, but tomorrow is a new day, though a busy one! And our routine will be off…a lot.
The Bible study that I have been apart of at church is nearly done for the summer. One more week. Of course, I am about 2 weeks behind, so I will have a bit more to do. I am planning to simply write out the Scriptures that I am reading this summer. I haven’t decided what book(s) yet.
We are looking for a midwife for the birth of our little one. There are several in the area, and we are meeting with them to find the best fit. We would love to use the ones we have use before, but one of them moved out of state and the other is due in October (and we are due in November), so that is not going to work.
Wow. For a no-one-topic update type post, this has really turned into quite a ramble.
I would dearly love to leave you with some witty words of wisdom, but this mama’s brain is pretty much dead (hence the rambling!).

Encouragement & The Aprons and Pearls Link~up #2

Aprons & Pearls Link~up #2

This year I have shared about how I have struggled with decluttering (The Struggle is RealMore Than Just Plasticware), and refocusing on Joy and I shared some Goals that I have set for myself. I have shared before about relying on God’s grace and strength (His Grace Is Enough).
While I love the idea of being the perfect homemaker, I fall short in so many areas.
I am still deciding if I will theme my posts for this link-up, or just stick with inspirational homemaking quotes.
My heart is to serve the Lord in my home, and encourage others to as well. We were made for community, so I am praying this link-up encourages you as a Christian woman, homemaker, and/or mom.
Homemaking is hard work. It usually does not result in pinterest-worthy homes, but we need to keep our reason for doing it right.

Let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we will reap if we do not grow weary.

Galatians 6:9

Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord rather than for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of inheritance. It is the Lord Christ whom you serve.

Colossians 3:23-24

(emphasis mine)

What better encouragement than to know that even if we are doing the dishes, or laundr, we can do it as an act of worship to the Lord.
I have briefly mentioned before that I am planning a big giveaway soon, and I nearly have everything altogether, so stay tuned!
I have made a Pinterest Board for the posts that you link-up, feel free to send me a message over on pinterest to be added. You can click here to check out the board.
