Taco Sauce

This is a quick and easy (and healthier) version of taco sauce. Much of what you will find in the stores is loaded with high fructose corn syrup and other junk.

Taco Sauce

  • 15 oz can of no salt added organic tomato sauce
  • 1/2 c water
  • 2 tsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 tsp chili powder
  • 3 tsp cumin
  • 3 tsp onion powder
  • 2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 2/3 tsp sugar

Mix all ingredients in a medium saucepan and simmer on low for 20 minutes. Serve with tacos, nachos, TexMex pizza…the possibilities are many!
Tomatoes are one of the dirty dozen, so I always try to do them organic.
