Aprons & Pearls

The sickness made it’s way through 3/4 of the children, though we are not sure what it was. Just a fever and feeling crummy. Over in about a day and a half (could be the elderberry syrup I gave everyone).
Last week we only made it to one storytime because D spiked a fever when we got home.
Did you stay up to watch the Super Wolf Blood Moon lunar eclipse? I did. I probably should have gone to bed, but I love watching the night sky.
It reminded me of Psalm 19:1

The heavens are telling of the glory of God;
And their expanse is declaring the work of His hands.

I was able to get us into Science time. I am glad. It will be B’s last session! He will tag along with L for sure, but it is the last one that he will officially be apart of the class.
Yesterday was below freezing. We got a ton of rain over the weekend, when it was 50/60 degrees, and that dried up as the temperature dropped. I really want snow!
We took down the Christmas tree Saturday. It is always a sad day.
How are your new year’s goals going?
I have been better about eating, taking my supplements, and hydration. A little less successful at a consistent Bible study, sleep, and sticking to a schedule.
School is going well. The children are definitely like sponges. They prefer play learning and reading books to actual book work. Most of our learning is hands on.
Sunday evening I finally decided to check out our library’s digital content. I am pretty excited about some of the things available (including some audio books that I have wanted to listen to, some Bible based cartoons for the children, and the Sight and Sound Theater’s productions of Moses and Jonah). If your library has Hoopla check it out!
Winter has been rather uneventful. It is part of the reason that I did not really worry about a winter bucket list. It mostly is stuff to do in the snow, and there is never a guarantee of snow in our area. And most of our Christmas activities area actually done in autumn. I think I will just make a Christmas bucket list.
The past week has been trying to say the least. It has really been a refiners fire. Several days of ugly crying. It has been hard.
It would be so easy to go with my feelings instead of what I know to be true.
God says that I am loved. That I am worth dying for. That the heart is deceitful. That all things work for the good of the good of those who love God. That our fight is not against flesh and blood. That I should count it all joy. That sorrow may last for a night, but joy comes in the morning.
The struggle is real, but so is my God.
On to the linkup!

The Aprons & Pearls Link-up

“If you want to experience consistent victory and see it played out in the atmosphere of your home, continually look for areas in which the Holy Spirit is leading to greater obedience, and ask God what your part is in making that a reality.

Aprons & Pearls Link~up @godschicki
This is a Christ-based weekly link-up to encourage others in their walks, and help Christian bloggers get their work out there.
Leave links to posts that are:
Homemaking/natural living/parenting/Christian walk related.
This could be natural living posts, recipes, cleaning, parenting, devotions, lessons, homeschool, Christian living, mentoring, modesty, gardening, homemade, diy, marriage, relationships, frugality, etc.

Linking Guidelines:

    • Link directly to your post (not to your homepage).
    • Please, no marketing posts (Plexus, Jamberry, MLM Oils or the like). Affiliate links to relevant items okay.
    • While I personally do not see anything wrong with a glass of wine every once in a while, please do not include alcoholic beverage recipes. It is a stumbling block to many, and I am not comfortable including them. They will be deleted.
    • Feel free to include old posts that need some love, relevant link ups and giveaways.
    • Leave as many as you like.
    • Link back to the Aprons & Pearls Linkup, either using the button below or a text link on either your post, sidebar, or link party page.
    • Use the hashtag #apronspearls when posting on social media so we can find your posts as well!
    • I would like to encourage you to browse through the links and take time to visit some and comment when lead.

The link-up will run Tuesday at 6am-Sunday at 5pm. Please come back through Sunday and check out some of the posts!
I have made a Pinterest Board for the posts that you link-up, feel free to send me a message over on pinterest to be added. You can click here to check out the board.
As time allows I will pin some links from the linkup (unless you have already added them to the board), share them on social media and comment.
Please note: View expressed in linkedup posts do not necessarily reflect my own, and I reserve the right to delete inappropriate posts.

  1. Robbi, I’m so sorry to hear that you have been going through a tough time. Praying that God helps you to stay focused on the truths that you know and that your feelings will catch up with what you are choosing to believe and meditate on. But I know the battle is real. Praying for you, sweet sister.
